Fight with an Ass

I finally had a chance to ride something other than a stationary bike. The weather had cleared up and it was a beautiful day with little or no wind and lots of sun. I decided to take the mountain bike and ride along what I thought would be a deserted road.

I hadn't gone two miles before it happened. I was flying, at about 10 miles per hour, and this ass walked right out in front of me! I hit the back brake hard and began sliding sideways but managed to get stopped just before contact. Not very happy with the situation I may have cut loose with a few choice words. .

He ignored me and went across the street to stand with his buddies. They stood with jeering faces as I tried to get on my bike and back on the road. I was sure they were trying to intimidate me because they all just turned and stared. My yelling didn't seem to phase them at all but when my faithful dog Achilles started barking they took off running. I let him chase them a while just for the fun of it.

In retrospect maybe that wasn't the right thing to do, but it sure made me feel better. I would have taken them on all by myself but they were a lot bigger than me. Besides, a couple of them had long hair and were scary looking. Also, I wasn't warmed up enough and my right hand had been bothering me, not to mention the slight cough I had.

I finished the rest of my bike ride without incident. I'm sure any other ass looking on would not have dared tried to test me. Should one of them ever try that again I plan to whip their ... well, you know what.
